<lj:music>Julian Casablancas - 30 Minute Boyfriend | Powered by Last.fm</lj:music>

Right, so this biznitch just saw Julian fucking Casablancas and it was FANTASTIC. Just…I cannot believe it. This guy is so great, chickdees/dudes. Serious.

I did an audio entry too cause I thought that I would post that instead of a written thing, but then I like going back and reading about my favorite shows and I hate listening to my voice, so I'd probably forget little things over time and I could never go back to read it over, you know what I mean? I can't listen to my voice at all. So yea, here's a link for that:
----> http://www.mediafire.com/?jhnwmywqez3
It's pretty ridic, just saying. I don't know, just a lot of OMGs and high pitchedness. Hahaha. I think I pretty much covered the same things in both so you can either listen or read, or both! To whoever cares...

Before the show:
I’m sad to say this part of the show was pretty boring/stressful. I had class that I couldn’t miss so I didn’t have as much time I as I needed to get to the train station which means I was CONSTANTLY sweating and freaking out. Gross! But luckily everything worked out. I ended up getting to the venue at around 5-ish and there was hardly anyone there. =O I don’t know, I mean, it’s Julian…JULIAN…but yea, whatever, great for me! My brother ended up getting there about half an hour earlier and was the first in the will call line (that’s where I had his ticket). But since I had my ticket with me, I had to get in the other line. We just ended up asking the guys in the other line to save us a spot cause we didn’t want to be loners haha. So yea, then we had to wait a couple of hours. =/ It was so awkward cause the place was DOWNTOWN…like, DOWNTOWN. I don’t know if any of you guys have ever been to Downtown L.A., but it is not a pretty place. My brother and I wanted to sit down on the floor but it was so dirty we thought we were going to get an STD. Not cute. Omg, well yea, this part was full of Ridic!Angela. My brother was so embarrassed. I could not calm down. At all. I was constantly moving. If I wasn’t shaking my legs or walking around, I was “dancing”. And it’s not even pretty/cute dancing…it’s the sad kind of dancing that geeks who play WoW would dance. =/ I did the robot like, 10 times and I was pretending I had like, guns for hands, so I was “shooting” my brother hahaha. Ugh, my shame just went down the drain. Only Julian could do this to me. =| Anyways, moving on. Doors were going to open at 8, but they let us in a few minutes late. I ended up going in, sixth? I’m not sure, but I was definitely among the first. So yea, I ended up getting a seat front row, center. BAM. I had a sweet ass view. The seats were so close to the stage! But then pit was right there…and it was like, I COULD BE EVEN CLOSER. FOOK. You know what I mean? There were so many people trying to get into the pit, it was crazy. I guess most people thought floor = pit like I did. =/ My brother and I were paying attention so if one of the security guards let them pass by we could blackmail him into letting us go in hahaha. Did not happen though…right, now the opening band:

Rainbow Arabia
They went on stage a bit after nine. I think their name describes their music perfectly. =O They definitely sounded like fruity Arabian music to me. =O The vocals were kind of weird, and the music too…but I think overall they were enjoyable. But then I think a metal band could of played and I would’ve been smiling like an idiot during the whole thing. ANGELA IZ IDIOT.
Yea, I guess I don’t have much to say about them…it was just a guy and a girl. The guy had some pretty funky dancing. The girl reminded me of Alison, but I’m not sure why…I guess it was the hair? I don’t think they looked and acted the same way so I don’t get why I kept thinking “Alison”. Ok ok, stuff happened, people played music, moving on:

While they were setting up for Julian, this lady that worked there came up to the people in the front row and gave us all PIT TICKETS. I GOT IN THE PIT. Hellllllllllllls yea. Seriously, I’m not making this shit up. IT HAPPENED. Omg. There were like, 10 people in the pit too, so I ended up second row. OMG. I was so fucking close, it was so beautiful, I had to dance even more! Anyway, then, all of sudden, ALBERT SHOWS UP. ALBERT. Awwww, he was with his new gf, I guess. They kept making out, lol. And yea, well, EVERYONE noticed. He was up in the balcony, so we were sort of far away. Anyways, people just started bombarding him. I could’ve gone up to take a picture and stuff but I thought the whole situation was just awkward. =/ He looked so good though! Definitely not like how he looked in that Gossip Girl episode. He looked healthy and stuff, which was nice. But I miss his curls! =( Yea, and then FAB SHOWS UP. So people bombard him…after a while the crowd around them sort of died down and Fab finally spots Albert so then he goes to hug him. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. I wanted to cry. I don’t know…I guess just cause of all the tension/grossness that most magazines were talking about had made me really nervous. It was so embarrassing cause as soon as they hugged, everyone started clapping and cheering, lol. Awww. And yea, then more people went up to them…eventually Binki and Devendra Banhart showed up. It was pretty “epic”. So after about twenty minutes of poor Albert and Fab taking pictures, they open the curtains…fuck me. =|

JULIAN F. CASABLANCAS
Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. SHIT. So they open the curtains, and his band is already at their instruments. They had the stage set up pretty awesome-ly. To the sides, they had these really long banners that went from the ceiling to the floor and they had some visuals projected on that. Towards the back they had another sort of white wall. It was so awesome cause it kept opening and closing like a vault…if that makes sense. The cut in the middle was zig-zag shaped. =O The band was set up like they were on Conan, except they sort of formed a three-sided square. Anyways, then Julian comes out. =| Shitty fucker shit turd mother shitter fucking fucker stupid asshole giant turd bomb I DON’T FUCKING EVEN KNOW. Gosh gosh gosh, he just looked so perfect. Omg. Well yea, he was wearing the same thing he wore on Conan. THE SHINY BOOTS AND EVERYTHING. I really like those boots. I think they are fabulous. He looked so awkward wearing them though…like, he could barely walk in them hahaha. Aww. So yea, they start playing songs. I don’t remember the order of the songs, but he played everything off the album, 30 Minute Boyfriend (!!!), Old Hollywood, AND I’LL TRY ANYTHING ONCE. Fooking shit. I’ll get to that eventually though…

Right, so obviously, during the show, he had all these different images being projected on the white screens. I don’t remember most of them cause I’m an old fart. For a lot of the songs he had some of the visuals from the “movie trailer” or w/e that first came out. He had this sort of jungle theme for Tourist. There were just projections of trees and stuff all over the place. Ludlow St. was really “Wild West”-y, if that makes sense. For 11th Dimension he had the coolest lights. =O I don’t know, it just sort of reminded me of what clubs in the 70s/80s looked like. Oh man, I was totally bustin’ a move during this song. Robot hands and everything, cause that’s how I do. Anyways, I couldn’t really hear his voice. =( I don’t know if it was cause they had effects on it or my hearing is just effed up, but yea. =( I mean, I could still hear it but it was kind of muffled. =/ I think it was just me though cause a few people said he sounded pretty awesome. =/ The band sounded great though. Everything was just, spot on. He didn’t really say much. He just kept thanking the crowd for coming and stuff like that. Right, and I guess anyone who’s ever seen a Strokes video has noticed that he’s always rambling on about something when he stops singing? I guess he thinks he sounds terrible or something? But yea, he was doing a lot of that. =| Ugh, it was so cute. And when people would cheer really loudly, he looked so embarrassed by it and just kept laughing and smiling. And ugh, his fucking smile…my heart was melting. YES. THAT’S FRUITY. YES, I’M A LOSER. But omg. He is so magical. A billion times more magical than Merlin’s ears and Harry Potter. During a break in the one of the songs, people started cheering really fucking loud and he just started cracking up. Like, he wanted to keep singing but he couldn’t stop laughing. Omg. >_< Fooking shit. GAH GAH GAH. GAHTITY GAH GAH. He looked a bit nervous though. He wasn’t really getting into the songs, if that makes sense. He was still singing the shit out of them, but he didn’t seem completely comfortable. OMG AND HIS NECK. That is the best neck in the history of necks. Serious. Omg you just want to touch! Touch it! Like, seriously, that is a fabulous neck. Neck’s don’t get more fabulous. No sir! No no no. Nein Nein Nein. Omg, you know what? Julian Casablancas’ neck heisst superfantastisch. Hahahahah, omg, that is so fucking lame…I need to stfu about his neck. ANYWAY.

After maybe, five or six songs, he’s like, “we’ll be back in five minutes” and I was like, WTF. What is this guy going to do?!?! Shit shit shit. The lights went on and people kept going up to Albert and Fab. =/ After about 10-15 minutes they finally dim the lights…and fucking shit. The curtains open and the whole stage is white. WHITE. Omg, and the band members were all wearing white clothing and Julian has a fucking white suit on. A WHITE SUIT ON. OMG. The only thing I like more than a nice neck is fucking white clothing. That shit was epic. Right, so they did a song. I don’t remember which…but they had all these white/blue street signs up on the screens. Oh and you know those cords that attach the guitar to the amp? I don’t know what they’re called. Anyway, the guitarists had these light up cords. =O They were rainbow colored and shit. It was so great, omg. And like, I noticed that there were these strings attached to Julian’s blazer. And I was like, fuck me, those are fucking lights, aren’t they? AND SHIT GUYS. THEY WERE LIGHTS. Fuck me. They dimmed the main lights a bit and turned on the lights on everyone’s clothes (the band members had them too). I thought it was just the coolest shit ever. After that, the band started getting off stage. For some reason the drummer stuck around a bit and I guess he wasn’t supposed to? So Julian was all, “Why are you still here?” or something like that and then he’s all, “No, you can stay” but he left anyway, and I was like, “HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA JULES YOU ARE SO FUNNY OMG” right. There was only one guy on the piano left. So then he’s all, “this is a b-side…well, more like a cover” AND HE STARTS PLAYING I’LL TRY ANYTHING ONCE. Omg, it was so beautiful. People went ape shit. EVERYONE was singing and because people were singing, he started smiling/laughing ugh, best thing ever. I wanted to cry. Actually, I’m surprised I didn’t cry. I’m such a fucking cry baby. I was just PUMPED like no one’s business. I’m sure I was annoying the people around me, but you know what? FUCK THEM. Ugh, and yea, it was just magical. -MAGICAL-. He even said, “Alright, one more time” or something like that…you know, what he says at the end of the recorded version? >_< And then, the last song. =( He ended with Glass. =( At the end he just thanked every one again (for the billionth time >_<) and said that they were playing three more times (like I didn’t know that shit) and that they were going to be changing up the show a bit. >_< THERE’S MORE SECRET SEXINESS IN STORE FOR ME.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
I don’t want to say this was the best show I’ve been to cause I’ve seen the Strokes and no matter how amazing Julian is, nothing will be as great as the five of them up on stage, but this shit is a close second. VERY CLOSE.

stuffs:
----> pictures : http://stereogum.com/archives/photo/julian_casablancas_downtown_palace_theatre_la_1160_099861.html
----> video of I'll Try Anything Once : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAi3SBcWARA
ok, if you look in the right hand bottom corner @ :30, there's this shiny headband...THAT IS ANGELA. lmaooooooo. you can see my yellow long sleeve shirts at the end. Hahahahahahaha. OMG. Ok, now that I'm watching it online I'm crying...and now when I was right there? Wtf? OH YEA AND HE WAS SNAPPING. So then I had to snap, of course, cause I wouldn't be the loser I am if I didn't copy his moves. =|

And I guess that's it. =O LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT WEEK.=O

*OMG* Okay...so I saw Franz Ferdinand last nite...and it was so awesome. D: I've been crying all morning and I'm like, "okay dumbass, why the fuck are you crying?" to myself...and then I just cry some more. D: And omg, I'm still nervous. I still have butterflies and shizz...I don't get it...D: D: This is some stupid shit. D:

-Before The Show-
So I got to the venue at like 3:45PM and there was already a HUGE line. I was totally worried I was going to end up with a terrible spot. :/ And yea, so Presly, someone I met on InterpolOnline was going to the show too, so I we were going to meet up, right? I totally saw her on my way to the end of the line but I was too nervous to say anything. D: And I didn't say anything until like an hour and a half later. D: Oh man, I'm such an awkward turd, it's not even cute. We finally talked though and she said she'd gotten there at 2-something which was crazy cause she was only like 15 people ahead of me, and there was prob twice that much in front of her. :/ Who knows what time those crazys got there, haha, aw. It was cute cause they had signs and stuff.

Oh, right, and like something interesting always happens before shows, right? Well this time it was kind of lame/funny...AND EMBARRASSING. The funny part: there was this homeless woman in the middle of the street trying to get cars to stop. :O But what was funny was that she had no shirt on. So, like, boobs galore. CHKL. Well that's what my brother told me...I didn't have my glasses on. Okay, and the embarrassing part: I had to use the restroom, right? Cause it was so fucking hot so I drank a ton of water...anyways, I go to the Coffee Bean across the venue, and I'm in the bathroom and I'm all on the toilet and shit and someone opens the door! THEY OPENED THE DOOR. And like, really wide too. I was totally "WTF" atm and started yelling "OCCUPIED!!! OCCUPIED!!" hahahaha, and like, the shit face did not hear me. But he finally closed the door. Man, I got the fuck out of there as soon as possible. That was not a cute moment. And then I went to tell my brother and I was so loud about it, I think half of the line heard, haha. Okay, yea, I didn't need to tell you that but for some reason I always feel like I have to share the most embarrassing moments with you guys...:P

Also: I walked to Amoeba cause I was bored, right? And I don't know, I ended up taking a picture of the billboards on top cause I thought it was fancy that they had Grizzly Bear and Mew up there:

Yea, kind of lame...

So basically after that, there was just more waiting and they finally let us in at around 7:00-7:15PM. Yea, yea. They split the line up into like four parts, so I ended up with a decent spot. It was between Alex and Nick, but mostly towards Nick. My brother had a spot at the barricade (cause he always manages to get to the floor before I do...I don't know how...) but it was in front of Bob and I wanted to be all up in Nick's business. =x I wasn't at the barricade, but second row and the people in front of me were tiny, so it was totally cool. (Y)

-Never Ever-
So Live Nation totally only said there was going to be one opening band, but all of a sudden, this band walks on stage at around 7:45PM. :/ Oh and I think that's there name, but I'm not sure. The singer said it, but I couldn't hear her AT ALL. :/ I guess they were going for this 50s/60s vibe...and their music was probably alright, but one of the guitarists had his guitar WAY TOO LOUD. It was fucking ridiculous. I had to cover up my ears cause they actually hurt. He totally drowned out the rest of the band too. It was a good thing their set was only 15-ish minutes long. There was this girl in front of me that left cause I guess she couldn't handle how loud it was. :/ It was totes random. =x The only good thing was that the non-loud guitarist kind of looked like Patrick Wolf. :O Well to me, anyway...I was pretty far away from him so I could be totally wrong, but I imagined him as Patrick anyway. =x

-The Blood Arm-
I think they started playing at around 8:15PM (awesome time, btw :P). I'd seen them before and I guess they were pretty good, but I totally only remembered the bad parts. :/ I'm sure I wrote my We Are Scientist review here and talked about the girl that practically mooned the crowd during their performance (The Blood Arm's, I mean)...and yea, I did not enjoy that. =x Well anyway, they had the same little announcer guy they had last time. I don't remember much of what he said, but it was hilarious. I think this is how the story went: he started telling the crowd that he was walking down Hollywood Blvd. and that he met this homeless man that said if he swallowed this bag of coins, he would be higher than he'd ever been before. Then he started saying something about how he was so high he saw Jesus and asked the crowd who liked Jesus, and some people started clapping and he was like, WELL FUCK JESUS, I WENT EVEN HIGHER. And then he did the same thing with Barack Obama, and was like WELL FUCK OBAMA TOO. Or something...hahaha. And supposedly kept on going higher and higher and once he was as high as he could be, he heard the most "ejaculatory" sound and said the band's name and they walked on stage, hahaha. I don't know, I thought he was cute...

Right, so they were pretty good. I kind of forgot about how much my feet hurt so that was awesome. (Y) The singer is so hilarious. I mean, the way he dances...it's more embarrassing than Ed's dancing, chkl. He came up to the barricade a lot and started climbing into the crowd. =x He asked one of the girls up at the front what her name was and dedicated two songs to her. :O It was funny cause he was like, "Jackie, you make me so happy, I think about you night and day..." etc. and someone yelled "bullshit". Yea, I don't know...I thought it was funny. They totally dedicated a song to me too. :O Nah, jk. They played that "Angela" song again. I'm not going to lie, I felt pretty special even though only like two people in the building knew my name was Angela. =x Oh and the girl in the band totally reminded me of Jessica from True Blood. :O

Well yea, I think that was it...so now:

-FRANZ FERDINAND-
OMGGGGGGGG. Like, I just got excited/chills typing that. Wtf. I am such a loser. Okay well during The Blood Arm the crowd got a bit crazy and it pretty much stayed the way through FF's set up. :/ I knew I wasn't going to be able to take any pictures during the show, so I just took a few of the stage before they came out:

Yea, pretty lame. :/ But like, I needed my hands to help keep my balance. I think I was standing at a 75 degree angle during most of the show. :/

Anyway, then they came out. :| I was really calm for some reason. :| The rest of the crowd was not, though. =x They got pretty ridiculous. So yea, this was the set list:
Bite Hard
Dark of the Matinee
No You Girls
Van Tango
This Fire
Turn It On
Can't Stop Feeling
Walk Away
Do You Want To?
Take Me Out
What She Came For
The Fallen
40'
Outsiders
--------------------
Michael
Darts Of Pleasure
Ulysses
Auf Achse
Lucid Dreams

:D :D :D :D :D Hmm, and well, I guess I'll just do a list of stuffs again or if you want a compressed version, here are my notes, lol:

FUCK! chkl.

Anyway...I'll go down the list or something.
-Definitely the most "omgwtfstfu" thing about the whole concert (for me) was Nick's mininess. He's just so little! It's crazy. I think his waist is smaller than one of my thighs, lol. Oh my gosh, I just wanted to hug him and put him in my pocket. Him and Allan can both hang out in there and be cute and little and then I could take them out for Happy Meals and we would have a blast and they'd totally get the chicken McNuggets kind of Happy Meal and FRIES AND SODA cause that apple + caramel/milk thing is bullshit, cause like, yea right I'm going to McDonalds to get something healthy. Wtf, man. Anywho...SO LITTLE. >_< It's so awkward cause like, when I think something is cute my face gets all squished in the middle and I just look super deformed cause I have one of those fat faces...not like, oh, I'm fat, so my face is fat, but I just have a lot of meat and shizz on my face, haha...okay, yea, and like, that's what my face looked like during most of the show and Nick would always stare into the crowd and sometimes in my direction and I don't think he was looking at me, but it was close enough...so then I would all nervous and even more sweaty and embarrassed cause my face was so >_< you know what I mean? Okay...whatever, I'll stop talking about this now. =x MINI MINI MINI MINI MINI MINI *_* Oh and also: he was just always smiling. So obviously I was all, *swoon* *swoon* *swoon* In addition: HIS BUTT IS TINY. Mine can like, eat his...whatever the fuck that means, but yea...it was so small, it made me sad. Hahahahaha...shit.

-VAN TANGO!

-Alex is also ridiculously mini. *_* He looks like a little lollipop! A lemon lollipop! Cause lemons are fruity. And I was totally planning to look at Nick the whole time but Alex drew my attention so much. :| It's like, you have to look at him or some shit. I don't know. And ugh, he's so dramatic and flamboyant about everything. :| Like, wtf man. He would sing the beginning of a lot of songs REALLY slow and like, make awkward faces and it was just the best. >_< And gah, his "dancing" and "rocking out" are so cute. =x =x OMG and I love how he says Los Angeles...it's not like, Los Angeles, it's Los Angeleeeeeez. Yea. =x <3 Bob was really far away so I didn't get to see much of him, but omg, he is so awkward...just, the way he moves is terrible. TERRIBLE. I don't know, if I was him I would rather not move cause his "moves" are just BAD. But yea, it was totally adorable. OMG and his little belly. I don't know, I think he looks like a little teddy bear. I didn't get to see a lot of Paul either...and since he was sitting down so I couldn't fully see his mini-ness...like, he looked normal sized, but I doubt that's true. I couldn't see his freckles. :( That was probably a good thing though. >_< And like, fuck, he's an amazing drummer. :| :| <3

-The crowd was RIDICULOUS. Like, just non stop dancing. I was SO exhausted after maybe five songs, haha. I tried to not move and gather energy or something, but it did not work cause everyone around me was jumping around...and tbh, it was a lot more fun to jump around and dance than just be stand around...after a while my foot started freaking out though. :/ I could barely walk on my way out of the venue. =x It hurt like a bitchhhhhh. I had to take four pain pills as soon as I got back cause I probably wouldn't have been able to sleep from the pain. =x Oh man and I STUNK. Big time...like, my arm pits NEVER stink cause I usually don't do much but last nite, they were stinking nasty style. 4rls. Oh and this bitch next to me hit me in the face like 10 times. >:(

-Well obviously, Outsiders was AMAZING. I guess if you've seen any live video of it, it was pretty much the same thing. Towards the end of the song, they all started gathering around the drum set and they were all beating on it (awkward sentence? lol)...but omg, it was so cute cause like there a break where only Paul was drumming and the rest of the guys weren't doing much, and so Nick got on top of one of the speakers and started hitting the pair of drum sticks he had together and Alex had this bottle of wine...omfg, he was kept on pouring wine into this little, pretend wine glass. Wtf...if Nick would've drank from the wine, I would have lost my shit...

-WHAT SHE CAME FOR. Okay, so I've pretty much had this song on repeat for the past two weeks. I was so excited when they performed it. Here's a video (not mine) of it:
<lj-embed id="24" />
From 2:45-2:55...OMG. I was right in front of Nick. :| :| :| Dudes, wtf. He was so little! And omg, like the pointing was so cute cause of the littleness!! Like...omg his little arms and his little hands. He looked like a doll. =x =x Oh and those pants he's wearing...WTF. They are so lame. And I totally thought that they were lace up pants...like, the things to the side were holes + strings, right? But they're not. :O THEY'RE HORSES. Or at least I think they're horses...well the circular bits are some horse-looking animal and then the bits in between are chains. Okay, where the fuck do they sell pants like that? Seriously. This guy is terrible.

-There was barely any man love between Nick and Alex and they didn't really talk...:( I think that was probably the only disappointing thing.

-Lucid Dreams was SOOOOO long. I thought I was going to hate it, but it was actually a lot of fun. Alex would make a sound and then we had to repeat it...like, he'd go, OooOoO wah or something, and then we'd have to say it back. I think it was like 15 minutes long or something. :O And yea, that was their last song. Alex was the first to leave, then Nick, then Bob, and finally Paul. :(

Well I can think of a couple more things but tbh, they're not all that important and I'll just end up rambling about something completely unrelated, so I'll just stop now. =x I've been writing this thing for a good 10 hours. :s Hugs to whoever read all of it.
Btw, what's up with every other FF song having either "la la la" or "oh yea" in it? haha...I don't know...
ALRIGHT PEEPS! So there was this Filter/Lucky Brand in store thing and Bat For Lashes was playing! So I was like, Oh HELL YES. So I RSVPd and shizz, and went! YAY. Now review time! But just FYI, this will probably be super ridiculous. Like, srsly. Well Amina's probably going to be the only one to read it and she loves the ridiculous-ness so I guess I don't need the warning, haha. Right, moving on...

BEFORE THE SHOW!
So I left the house at around 12:30PM which was terrible cause they were supposed to start passing out the wristbands at 1PM. :// We ran into some traffic, but I ended up with a good spot in line and they hadn't started passing out the wristbands so it was all coolio. And yea, they didn't start passing them out until like 2-ish. Liars! But whatever. I got it, and since the show didn't start until five, I started walking around. The store was in downtown Santa Monica so there were a bunch of stores and those street performances going on. I ended up walking around until three cause that's when they were going to start making these tote bags, for free! Like, that silk screening thing. They had three Lucky Brand designs and one Bat For Lashes one, so OF COURSE I got the Bat For Lashes one:

Delicious! :P I messed the top part up though. ://

Oh and while I was walking around, I saw this yogurt place:

Hehehehe.

Anyway, after I got my bag I went to Pinkberry's. :| Dude, that yogurt is BOMB. Srsly. Idk why I hadn't been there before. I still had some time to kill after that so I went into Barnes & Noble. I was going to try to look for an interesting book (all I do is buy them, I never read them. ://) but I ended up walking into the music section and they had IS THIS IT ON VINYL. And I was like, this shit! So I had to buy it, right? Like, I HAD TO. Anyway, here is it is next to my other ones. It's such a sad collection! I definitely need more...even if I don't have a record player. :x

:D :D :D :D Prettyyyy.

Anyway, after that I just hung out around the place cause I was scared people were going to start going in and I was going to end up with a terrible spot. And while I was standing there, I saw Devendra Banhart! It was so crazy. He was like five feet away from me. :O I wasn't sure it was him at first, but after I saw that someone asked him for a picture, it was kind of obvious. He was with that one girl from that voting video they did with Fab: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQrW4R891l8 It was cute cause the girl accidentally kicked over this one sign, and Devendra like rushed to help her pick it up. I was all, AWWWW. Man, that guy is intensely skinny. :x They left after a few minutes and yea, I didn't say anything to them cause...Idk. What would I say? Hahaha. So then there was just more waiting and I finally noticed that a ton of people with wristbands were going inside the store, so I went in. And yea, a ton of people were inside already. :// I ended up with a good spot though.
Here's my view of the little stage:

And I found this picture on Flickr. You can see my head!!

Yea, the place was TINY. I think maybe like 100-150 people were there. It was cool cause before the show they had these mini hot dogs and burgers. Idk, I thought that was AWESOME, haha. I didn't eat any though. I don't know why...hmm...but yea, I sat down at like 4:50PM and the show didn't start until maybe 5:30PM. Like, everyone was sitting right? I thought that everyone would get up once they started the show, but no. :| So we were all sitting through the whole thing, which was nice except for the fact that my foot kept falling asleep! :( I had to keep moving it and shizz...and I kept on moving this one bag I had with the vinyl and this guy next to me kept looking over when I did it...cause it was that quiet. :| But I was like, wtf guy, it's only a bag. STFU, cause that's not a big deal right? I mean, it's not even that loud. Butt munch. So...

BAT FOR LASHES!!!
OMFG. Hehehehehehe. Ok ok. I hope this makes sense. =x I'll post the one shitty pic I have first:

*swoon* *swoon* *swoon* *swoon*

Just, like, OMG I LOVE HER. She is so tiny and cute!! I had this face during the whole thing: ^_^ 4RLS. It was totally embarrassing. Anyway, she played:
Horse And I
Tahiti
Travelling Woman
Glass
Moon And Moon
Daniel
Precilla
MAYBE Trophy...I'm not sure...I asked for a set list after the show but the guy said there weren't anymore. :( Anyway, list!!
* Right, so she was only playing with one guy. They had all these little weird instruments up there. I couldn't see most of them, but even if I could I'm sure I wouldn't be able to tell you what they're called. :// But yea, they were weird/cool looking. The both of them had to keep moving around to each instrument. Natasha was mostly at the piano, though.
* I really liked the one guy. Idk, he seemed cool and quiet and stuff. Like...if we were back in the 1500s, he would totally have been a Spanish conquistador, but a really nice one. Like, if I was a Mayan slave, he would have bought me and treated me nicely and would have been like a brother/dad to me. But then one night he would have gotten really drunk and high on weird Mayan drugs and tried to rape me, but I'd be like, guy, no! What are you thinking?! And then he'd start crying and apologize a billion times and I'd finally put him to bed and the next day he'd be, I'm so sorry. And I'd be like, guy, it's coolio. Don't even trip. And he'd still feel bad so he'd be all, I'm going to give you your freedom or some shizz and marry me off to a sexy guy that looks like Zach. TTLY.
* After every song she would like smile the best smile in the whole wide world and I would inwardly sigh or sigh inwardly or Idk. It was just adorable. =x It was awkward too cause I kept singing along without noticing and no one else was. =x She even said that we should...I hope that's not because I was doing it. =x =x OMG SHE PROBABLY SAW MY DUMB FACE...HOW EMBARRASSING. :( =x Oh and her voice was PERFECT. Srsly. It sounded better than it does on the albums. OMG and like the faces she makes when she has to sing a high note or something are so precious. =x =x Dudes, she could be beating up a baby and I would think it's precious. =x =x But of course she's too sweet to do that. =x
* She introduced Daniel and said something about how it was a really weird version of the song and that it was her last song so of course everyone was all, boo! Right? And then she started up this little machine and apparently she clicked the wrong button so she was all, "wrong one" and got a little embarrassed and like started laughing to herself so she covered her mouth and was like OMFG WTF STFU cause it was like ridiculously adorable. I wanted to give her a hug. =x =x DUDES SHE MAKES ME SO GAY. =x Like, after her set I wanted to scream out: OMG NATASHA I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!! LET'S GO TO NEW HAMPSHIRE AND GET MARRIED OR WE CAN EVEN GO BACK TO LONDON AND GET CIVIL PARTNERSHIPPED AND THEN WE CAN JUST WATCH ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT EPISODES AND MEAN GIRLS ALL DAY LONG WHILE EATING NON FAT YOGURT AND YOU CAN TELL ME ABOUT THE HAIR PRODUCTS YOU USE CAUSE YOUR HAIR IS GANSTAAA AND MINE IS SO TERRIBLE. But then that would have been weird. =x

Some pictures from Flickr:

End!! :( Man, this was one shitty review cause it's pretty much just me being a typical fan girl + pics. :// But I guess that's how all my reviews are. :| LAWL.

Kk. Well yesterday I saw Cale Parks + Harlem Shakes + Passion Pit at The Glass House and it was FUN. Of course, it couldn't compare to Friday's show, but it was still really good.

Before the show (aka boring stuff you can go ahead and skip)
Every year they have this "Multicultural" assembly at my old high school and my brother was going to play something so I thought it'd be pretty turdy if I didn't go. So we ended up going to that first. It sucked though cause he told us it was going to start at four, so none of use were ready and then he texts us at like 2:40 saying that the show starts at three. :| We ended up getting there at 3:30 and he'd already played. Sad times. :(( This was the song he played: [[ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g78I79tTQxU ]] He's pretty awesome. Hahaha, but I guess I'm just saying that cause he's my brother. Anyway, we left like five minutes after we got there cause there was really no point in staying. I had to come back and finish getting ready for the show, so we didn't end up leaving until like 5:30. AND OMG. There was SO much traffic. It was ridiculous. Plus, the Glass House is in Pomona, which is like 35 miles away from my house. I usually go see shows in L.A./Hollywood and that's only like 15 miles away, so it probably wasn't the best idea to leave that late. :// But it was alright cause I was meeting that same girl from the AC show and he had a spot at the front of the line. I ended up getting there like 15 minutes before the doors opened. :s So yea, nothing interesting happened in those fifteen minutes. :(( There were all these stupid kids in line. I wanted to punch them in the face. :// It was the first time in my life that I hoped hipsters would have showed up instead. Srsly. :| So yea, we went in and ended up with a spot up against the barrier, close to the middle.

Cale Parks
I thought he was adorable! Idk, he reminded me of Patrick Wolf, I'm not sure why. I mean, he was definitely not as gay and he didn't really look like him...I think it might have been the hair. Whatever. It was just him, his computer, and some drum equipment. I thought the songs were really good and a lot of stuff sounded 80s-ish, so I ended up buying the album. The stuff was MUCH better live. :// It was cute though cause he was selling his own stuff. I didn't say much to him...I think he wanted me to like make conversation or tell him that I thought he performed well but yea, that didn't happen, hahaha. I'm such an awkward person. Oh! And I really liked his dance moves too. For some reason they kept on making me giggle. Idk, I think you would have loved him, Amina. He seemed so Amina-like to me, hahahaha. Like, I can see you guys being Bffs. Srsly. Anyway, yea, it was a fun set.

Harlem Shakes
I totally thought they were opening for White Rabbits so I downloaded their album a while ago. Good stuff. I like the first half of the album a lot more than the second. Anyway, that had nothing to do with anything...they were really good. The singer was so weird though! Idk. Like he was making some awkward faces. He was probably on some kind of drugs. :// I didn't have my glasses with me, so I couldn't see that well, but I thought he looked like...um, if Gael Garcia Bernal and Syler Skjelset from Fleet Foxes had an ugly baby, hahaha...here's a picture of the band:

The one with the blazer...a little, right? Maybe? Kind of? Idk...I didn't like the guy that's sitting on the floor in that picture. He bothered me. Idk, like he thought he was SO cool and funny and you know what? He's not. He's just lame. Hahaha, I don't know what I'm talking about anymore. OMG and the singer kept coming over to my side cause that was like the only spot were there wasn't a giant speaker. I had the biggest urge to like, stick my hand out and slap his leg. Idk. I thought it would have been fun. :// I'll stop talking about them before I say anymore stupid things. So, to sum up: I REALLY liked their set. I sang along and shizz. I was entertained in a very nice manner. Thank you, Harlem Shakes, for being a decent opening band. Oh and I wanted to hug the drummer. Kk.

PASSION PIT! Yayy.
Well the crowd got pretty crazy during their set. And like the girl next to me was like five feet and less than 100 pounds so I felt bad bumping into her, which meant my other side got BEAT. Does that even make sense? Idk. But yea, it wasn't cool. Anyway, the band was good. The singer has such a weird body! It's like his head takes up 1/3 of his body. Hahahaha. Yea. But I like big heads so it was cool. I thought the drummer was so adorable! And the girl I was with said that he had given them all water bottles while they were waiting in line. So cute! He had the nerdiest glasses too. I wanted to give him a hug. Right, well they played a real short set. :// Lame. Idk. It was definitely less than an hour...and it's not like the didn't have enough material! Boo. I don't remember the set list and Lastfm is down, so I don't know what they played exactly...I remember: The Reeling, Moth's Wings, I've Got Your Number, Better Things <333, and Sleepyhead being played and Idk what else. I thought that maybe seeing the new songs live would make me like the album a bit more, but it didn't really help at all. :// I mean, it was fun and stuff but I still feel the same way about the songs. So yea, I don't really have anything else to say.

I ended up going to some used book store next to the venue after the show and got a book called "Deciphering the Past". Hahaha, yea. Lame.

    <lj:music>Animal Collective - My Girls | Powered by Last.fm</lj:music>

Okay, I don't even know how to start this review. It was a fucking amazing night, but not in a way that I think I can properly describe. I mean, cause I usually talk about about cute/funny things the guys/girls did on stage and whatever else, but Animal Collective hardly move on stage. It's like, if it was someone else, I would have been unbelievably bored and I probably would have left...but because they were up there and their music was playing it was kind of heavenly. :o) That sounds hardcore cheesy, but it's the truth, guys. It's the truth. :P

So...before the show? Ja.
I was planning on leaving at around two so that I could get there at three, but I ended up leaving at 3:30. :// It was coolio though. There wasn't too much traffic so I was in line at a little after four. There were already people there, but not too many. I still had a chance of ending up with a spot at the barricade. Right...so I was meeting some chick there who I met on Last.fm...we've only met once before, like a year ago at Vampire Weekend, but we didn't really talk at all. I was just selling her the spare ticket I had. Anyway, yesterday we were both there alone so I spent most of the time talking to her about whatever. And yea, nothing all that interesting happened. :(( Well there was this weird homeless guy with a mariachi hat and a trumpet, but he was hanging around with the people at the front of the line, so he didn't bother the rest of us, haha. Mhmm, and at one point I went to some McDonalds cause I had to pee and I bought some cookies and Powerade while I was there. Hahahaha, ja ja. Anyyyywhooooo, doors opened a little after eight but it was weird cause the people in line weren't really rushing to be in the front. Good for me, though. :D And they didn't check our bags! Which I thought was nice cause I didn't want to look like a weirdo in front of the security guards when they saw a Scooby Doo doll in my bag, haha. :D Right, so I ended up with a spot right in front of Noah. *dramatic swoon* I would have wanted to be closer to Geologist, but the girl I was with said that she'd been in front of Geologist the last time she saw them so she wanted to be on Noah's side this time. Which obviously, was fine with me! :P They had this little screen on stage and you could text stuff to this number and it'd show up. I remember someone sending "Sarah Palin 2012" and then someone else sent "Panda Bear 2012" which I thought was funny. Oh! And someone sent something about a seal eating his hand...which reminded me of Arrested Development but Idk if that's what they were talking about. I ended up laughing like a dummy anyway. <3

Grossness, for serious.
So this "Grouper" chick came on at like nine. OH MY FUCKING GOD. WHAT THE FUCK. Seriously. Just like, I don't even know what. I mean, her music was nice, I guess...but her performance was pretty ridiculous. She was just on stage with her guitar (which she barely played!) and some pedals and nobs. I was seriously falling asleep. :/// She didn't even look at the crowd, at all. She didn't say anything either! Which I thought was super fucking rude. Cause I mean, okay, she doesn't have to tell us anything, but she could at least say thanks to Animal Collective or something cause that's what all opening bands do! Idk. She had nice hair though, haha.

ANIMAL COLLECTIVE
OMG GUYS, OMG. Right, well they set up their own stuff which was so cute! I kept on staring at Noah but like no one else was looking at him so I felt kind of awkward and a bit pervy, so I stopped...but then I really couldn't stop cause I mean, fucking Panda Bear is right in front of me and he probably won't be right in front of me for like another two fucking years so I should take advantage of my current state and eye fuck the shit out of him, amirite? Of course I'm right. Hahaha. Man, too many fucks in that sentence. Okay, anyway, they were just messing around with some nobs and Avey had a few guitars with him so yea, he was messing around with those. They were only up there for a little while. After they left I started panicking, which was not cool. I felt like there was a huge lump in my throat and I could barely breathe. Srsly. I am such a loser, but whatever. They came out soon after and yea, AHHHHHHHHHHHHH. The people around me had brought balloons so during the break they'd blown them up and Idk, they had something like 20 or more balloons. They were planning on throwing them as soon as they started playing, which was SO cool. Srsly. Idk, I love confetti and balloons and shit. It's sexy. Anyway, here's a picture of it:

A few balloons had made it on stage and Avey kicked them, which I thought was so adorable. <3 But then again, they could have been sacrificing a goat on stage and I would have thought it was the best thing ever, hahaha.

This was the set list according to some chickadee on Lastfm. It seems pretty accurate:
Chocolate Girl
- I had never heard this song before, but it was definitely sexy. Feeling like a turd for not listening to it before.
Summertime Clothes
Guys Eyes
- Towards the end of this song Geologist started freaking out, hahaha. Like, Idk how he can move his head that much. I'm sure his neck had to hurt after the show. I would've gladly given him a massage...................:x
Leaf House
- AH-MAY-ZING! I didn't even recognize it at first. But it was sad cause I wanted Avey to say kitties, but they ended the song after one "meow". :(
Lion in a Coma
Who Could Win a Rabbit
What Would I Want Sky
Bleed (New Song)
No More Runnin'
Essplode/Fireworks
- DEFINITELY THE BEST SONG. Gahhh. It's embarrassing, but I cried. Like, I was just there, and all of a sudden I feel my eyes watering and there was like nothing I could do. It was so beautiful. :') I think I was able to stop before people noticed...Hahaha, yea. I'm sure Fireworks is going to be on repeat sometime this week. OH AND OMG. Noah was pretty much playing drums during the whole thing...:| It was intense. He was so into it too...omg. I'm such a fan girl. *swoon* x a billion. OMG! And like, he had to keep his head down cause he was playing standing up, so his hair kept blocking his eyes and he kept blowing it away but it didn't help and I was totally freaking out. My face must have looked ridiculous. <3
Brothersport
- OMGWTF. Intense shit. Srsly. Idk, it was just so much fun. The crowd was SO pumped. Everyone was jumping around and singing along. <33 MATTTTTTTTT!!

Encore:
My Girls
- Obviously one of my favorites. Noah's face while he was singing it made me melt. *swoon* I don't understand how someone can be so adorable.
Slippi
- At the end of the song the same people that had the balloons threw all this confetti up into the air. It was awesome.

And then it finished. :( I was really hoping they would play Banshee Beat cause they'd played it in SF a couple of days ago, but it didn't happen. :( I think we ended up getting Brothersport instead of Banshee Beat, which was probably just as amazing as Banshee Beat would have been.

I didn't take a camera cause Idk, I'm just tired of being scared that they're not going to let me in with it and I'll have to like pay for them to keep for me or something stupid so I didn't bother with one this time. And it's the one time they don't check me! Shitty. But whatever, I enjoy the show more when I don't have to worry about taking pictures. Here are a few from Flickr though, credit to whoever took them.

I was right in front of that red balloon. *swooooooooon*

My little Geologist. <333

I enjoyed his dancing a little too much. :| :| :| Like, seriously. It was very }:]...for me, anyway. And it didn't help that the music was so loud that everything was vibrating. LAWL. Okay, I need to stop being a perv. But it's Stanzie's fault! Not mine, I swear.

Slut. He was talking to himself. :| HE WAS TALKING TO HIMSELF! OMG. Like, I don't even know. I couldn't handle that shit. He looked angry too. It was just ridiculous and I wanted to jump on stage and slap him and then touch his neck. Idk, I have a fetish for necks now. I blame it on Nick.

Oh right, and as soon as they were getting off the stage after their encore, I threw the bag/scooby doo doll on stage but it like, went under their keyboard and no one noticed! Cause those sheets they have attached to their keyboards covered it up. :( I hope that the roadies ended up giving it to Geologist. It would suck if they threw it away or something. :'(

<lj:music>OK Go - Bye Bye Baby | Powered by Last.fm</lj:music>

Hmm...it's weird, I don't really know how to start this...but I guess I'll start by saying that this will probably be an awkward review cause lately I've been really angry and calling people the stupidest names. So yes, I apologize for that and I hope that at least you'll be entertained. Mhmm. This is like my fifth time seeing them? Or Idk. Cause I've only seen them twice in concert, but I saw them once on CD USA (with Jojo, hahaha) and on that one comedy show that I wrote about a while ago. Anyway, they were FANTASTIC. They are just the nicest, funniest, coolest guys and every time I see them I'm thoroughly sexified and entertained.

BEFORE THE SHOW
So nothing really interesting happened this time. :(( Idk, most of the time something weird happens to me before a show, usually involving homeless people, but not this time. It was just really frustrating. :/ You can skip this part if you want. (Y) So I was planning on going home Thursday so that it could have been a lot easier to go to the show, but it turned out that I had a chemistry quiz so I couldn't leave. :| Anyway, my mom decided to come pick me up, so that was awesome. I really hate the bus. She got to school a little after one and we were finally on the road at around two. THERE WAS SO MUCH TRAFFIC. We didn't get home until five. :| Three hours to drive 100 miles. That's ridiculous. >:( So obviously, I was freaking out. I'm always at shows at least a couple of hours early. My stupid brother hadn't even taken a shower so we had to wait for him. :/ We didn't leave the house until six and doors were supposed to open at seven. :| :| :|

There wasn't much traffic on the way there, and it was pretty close so at around 6:30PM we got to the place. But it turned out that we were at the opposite side of the park (the show was at the House of Blues, Anaheim, so right next to Disneyland) and this guy pretty much told us how to get there. Anyway, my mom drops us off right there cause the guy was like, you have to park in this building and walk around. So I was thinking it'd be a five minute walk, right? IT TOOK ME FOURTY-FIVE MINUTES. OMFG. And the worst thing was that my brother jumped the fence and this little Disneyland tram picked him up, so he didn't even have to walk all that I had to. Man, I was alone and scared and I didn't even know where the fuck I was going. But luckily, after FOREVER, I found the place. It was already like 7:20PM so they'd already let everyone in. :// I finally got the tickets, and I go up to the place and the security guard said that I couldn't take my camera in. I had to take it back to my car (which I didn't have!!) or check it in at the place for three dollars. :// So after like ten minutes, I'm finally able to go in. The place was already pretty packed, which sucked, but my brother and I ended up with decent spots. We were like ten or eleven people back. :/ But it was coolio since there were just a bunch of teenage vaginafaces in front of us, no one tall. I had a perfect view of the stage. (Y) I think the crowd was decent. I was annoyed at the moment, because seriously, what doesn't annoy me? but yea, now that I think about it, they were pretty cool. Oh yea, and I guess it's obvious, but I wasn't able to take any pictures. :(( It was shitty too, cause there were this girls in front of me with cameras. >:( But then the security guard saw and yelled at them and that made me feel better. :)) Heh.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

IO ECHO
I think they started playing at around 8:30PM, maybe a couple of minutes before. I'd heard good things about them, so I was excited to see them. They really didn't disappoint, but I kind of had a love/hate relationship with them. Cause for five minutes I would like them, but then I would be totally annoyed. I guess I'm a little bi-polar. :s which is weird cause seriously, all Salvadorian people are like that. My mother is a perfect example. Anyway, they had really good songs. I don't remember any of them, cause I never remember anything, but I enjoyed the drums/bass a lot. The girl's voice was really good too. There was this one guy with Paul's guitar who I thought was a little sexy but then I saw his face and I was like, "what just happened? :s" Hahaha, that sounds mean. I'm one of those ugly people that likes to make fun of decent looking people because I'm a shitface. Yup. :// The singer's speaking voice was SO like, little. Idk, I'm not sure how to describe it. It was kind of freaking me out, but then she said she had tonsillitis, which I guess is the reason for it. Mhmm. She was really little and skinny and her dance moves were TERRIBLE. Idk, like, she would do this zombie pose that was mostly ridiculous and then she did like bunny ears and started jumping around...oh, and at one point she looked exactly like a jelly fish swimming. Very entertaining. There was also a British guy in the band, according to the singer, so they played a Beatles cover for him. I have no idea what song it was cause I know absolutely nothing about the Beatles...but yea. I liked his name. It was Leopold or something. Idk, it's not very common, which is nice...his hair was on his face ALL THE TIME, so I don't know if he was sexy...I really don't remember much else. I wanted the drummer to be my friend. Oh and the bass player was "handsome"...like, I would say the dictionary definition of handsome, sort of...whatever. They made me forget about how much my feet were hurting, so in my book, GREAT opening band. (Y)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK GO
Right, so I'll do a little list again cause I'm always all over the place, and they help me stay somewhat organized or something...whatever. I really can't remember much right now, which is sad cause it's been only a few hours since the show. ://
- I think they show started off with a new song...I only have their album stuff, so I can't be sure it was new. :/ Tim was the first to walk on stage and he started banging on this giant drum. :o) [pic] And then they each started coming out one by one. The first thing my brother said to me was, "Damian is beautiful." Hahahaha. He really is...
- They played a ton of new songs and they all sounded AMAZING. I sort of get the Prince vibe peoples were talking about now. I'm excited to listen to the album!! I loved Andy's solo during one of them. It was pretty sexy. He was also playing like these giant wind chime looking things. It was intense. :o)
- There was this giant tube thing behind Andy where all this confetti came out of. It was ridiculous. Man, they love their confetti. I think they might have set it off like five or six times. At one point, I couldn't see the stage at all because there was so much confetti coming down. AMAZING. Cause seriously, it makes everything cooler, right? Right. [pic]
- During What to Do, they brought out all these hand bells and all four of the guys started playing them. [pic] It was pretty hilarious cause Tim kept playing this one bell that was seriously bigger than he was.
- I'm going to try to remember everything Damian said. He always comes up with the most ridiculous stories or random things to say. <33 Oh and man, he was totally sexing up the place. Seriously. Those smirks could kill people.

I think the first thing he did after the first song was apologize for having postponed the show. He said something like, "I'm human and I get sick. No, that's not true. I mean, I was sick but I'm not human."

At some point he started talking about Tim and about his Twitter. Supposedly Tim got it because he wants to be like Shaq and since he is the complete opposite physically, he was making up for it in every other way.

He started talking about how he was arrested about three years ago at another House of Blues so was felt like a "p*ssy" for being scared of playing at this one cause he thought they were going to come after him. Then he asked Tim why he was arrested and Tim something like, "because you were being awesome." Damian then said, "yea, because I was trying to be like someone. Who was I trying to be like, Tim?" And Tim said, "me." Haha, aw.

Before they started playing What to Do, he went into this little rant about some rich, preppy girl he met after a show in NY. Supposedly she told him that she was glad that they were bringing hand bells back, but that their technique was way off. Then the crowd started booing and he said, "she should have shut up," or something like that...and how she was a bitch. Haha. When they were done he said something like, "I hope you recorded that. Our technique was perfect. You should play it back and learn from it." Aw.

For some reason I really wanted him to tell us to shut up, hahaha. I guess I'm a masochist or something. Awkward...anyway, he did! YAY! I don't really remember, but I think he was talking about how great the sound was (it really was!!) and how they weren't used to playing at nice venues cause they always got stuck with shitty ones. And then he said something about how the crowd was like a classroom cause everyone was so quiet and naturally, everyone started yelling. And then he yelled "shut up!!" <33 That might have been my favorite part of the show...

For one of the new songs, he said, "sorry, Andy has to put on his six necked guitar" and went on to say that Andy has been trying to be like Jimmy Page his whole life...

He gave Southern California a bunch of compliments. Something about how they were really happy to be home and how they've spent most of their time in NY in a town with six other people and 10,000 feet of snow. He said that it was so warm, pretty, and "succulent" here. This is true. I'm totally juicy.

I think that's it.
- The set list included mostly singles and new songs. I don't remember the order at all. :// I was really happy they decided to play Oh Lately It's So Quiet though, but it's sad that they never play my two favorite songs. :(( One day...

I don't remember much else. I'll edit this post if I do, but I doubt it. I should probably be going to sleep now cause it's like three in the morning. :/ Big time high fives to anyone who reads this...which will probably only be Amina and Kalinda. Hahah, aw. <3 Sorry for not making sense half of the time and my terrible English. I don't know why I bother to capitalize. It doesn't really help the fact that I don't know how to construct sentences properly. :s ANYWAYS. I checked on Word and it's almost 2000 words. :s I should put this much effort into my school work...Btw, most of these photos are from the SF show. I couldn't really find any LA ones on Flickr right now besides terrible cell phones ones.

So...I saw of Montreal...yup..............................

Before the Show
So I got the venue at around 4:45pm. I wanted to be there earlier but I don't know what happened that I ended up leaving so late. :/ It was alright though because there were only five people in line when I got there. Usually my "Before the Show" section is really long, but I don't have much to say...There was this random black guy that walked by us with a boom box blasting music. I thought that was pretty funny. The rest of the time I was just bored and kind of freaking out about the show. When they let us in, there were three lines so I thought that I would get a pretty good spot. I ended up heading towards this door with a retard. Seriously. He didn't know how to work the machine so couldn't scan our tickets and while everyone was going in, I was stuck there. I started screaming and the guy in front of me started laughing. :| So eventually they let us in, and I sped walk to the stage. I ended up with a spot in front of Bryan. It turned out to be okay though, because I was in front of this speaker and Kevin sort of stood on that during parts of the set. Then there was a bunch of waiting...

HEALTH

The people next to me started talking to the security guard about the opening band. Apparently he had seen them at the El Rey (I think that was a Foals show, :(( ) and said they were terrible. I was seriously expecting a shit fest, but I ended up enjoying their set a lot. :o) I downloaded their album because I wanted to know what to except, and it was pretty weird. There were a few songs that were alright though. Anyway, they were LOUD. REALLY LOUD. And most of the time it was just random screaming. One of the guys had red curly hair and I thought he was just too adorable. He wasn't sexy or anything, just cute. Umm, yea, I guess that's it. They weren't that bad.

of Montreal
Okay. I was expecting SOOOOO much from their live show and man, they fucking delivered. I'll do bullet points because that's always easier. My memory sucks, by the way. I'm having the hardest time trying to remember something that happened only a few hours ago. :| Oh, and my stupid camera died right after I took my first of Montreal picture. I guess the battery is messed up, because I charged it before I left...and must have taken five pictures of HEALTH? I don't know, but I'm probably going to have to get a new battery. :/
*The set was realllly good. I had seen the set lists from other shows and it was pretty much the same, I think, except that we got two covers instead of just one. It was mostly from Skeletal Lamping though, and I would have loved to hear some more Hissing Fauna. That might have killed me though, so maybe it was better this way.
*They started off with this little intro and Kevin came out in a glittery blue shirt and red pants. Dude, that was intense! I DID NOT KNOW HE WAS SO TINY! Gosh, I just wanted to hug him and put him in my pocket! Then they moved onto Id Engager, which was awesome. I loved singing along to it. They had these golden dancing buddhas on stage and when he said "ninjas" during the song, they took off their Buddha costumes and turned into ninjas, haha. Aww.
*At some point he took off his blue shirt and he put another one on..and then he took that one off, haha. It was so funny how he started taking the second shirt off though. He came up to the microphone and kind of did it like a stripper would...you know, slowly and in a sexy manner? Fuck, that was lovely.
*Towards the end of Gallery Piece he made everyone clap. He said something like, "Clap so I can do my thing." And when mostly everyone was clapping he started dancing. OH MY GOODNESS. Like, I could not control myself! IT WAS SOOOO ADORABLE. I wanted to cry. I don't even think I can describe it, but imagine a little doll jumping/dancing around on stage. I think at some point he might have been tap dancing, I'm not sure. Just....GUUUHHHHH. I wanted to explode. <3333
*I think maybe twice (?) Kevin went up to one of the drum sets and started playing. Man, he's a great drummer.
*Like I said before, I had that speaker in front of me. Kevin stood on it a few times. The turd would pull out his hand and everyone would reach for it, but we'd be like an inch from actually touching him. :| What a tease. I think for like a second we made eye contact. <333 That was wonderful.
*Hmm. At one point there was a guy with a tiger mask and he started attacking some of the ninjas. He grabbed one of them and turned them upside down and then bit their crotch. I was like :o) and then I started cracking up.
*There were a bunch of people on stage while they were playing a song, acting like dolls, I guess. Then Kevin went up to them and started moving them around so that they were in random sexual positions. I actually gasped and covered my mouth, hahaha. I felt like such an old lady. :|
*During the end of some song, Kevin went in the back of this little stage they had and when the next song started playing, they turned the stage around and he was wearing the glittery blue shirt again, with like booty shorts, blue nerdy glasses, and he had a giant boombox next to him. Hahaha. It was soooo eighties. AWWW. [http://flickr.com/photos/starbright31/3052751756/] Then some random girl started skating on stage and eventually a bunch of other people came on stage as well.
*In between some of the songs, there were a bunch of ninjas and this one pig. They brought out a table and put a bib on the pig and then sat him down to eat. Then the tiger man brought out this cake, I guess. OMG, it was two boobs, hahahaha. He gave it to the pig, and then he took off one of the nipples and showed it to us and eventually shoved a whole boob into his mouth. I have NOOO idea what that was all about but it was HILARIOUS. Then they just left and Kevin came back out and the next song started.
*Towards the end of their set, Kevin went back to change and Bryan started playing some weird song. He said it was a Nigerian folk song and then made us all sing along, haha. First he made everyone do it, then just the girls and just the guys. It was so cute cause when it was the girls' turn, he made his voice really high and made it really low for the guys. I don't know if that makes any sense, but whatever. I loved it.
*A Sentence of Sorts in Konsvinger, the last song before the encore, was just amazing. Well I obviously loved it because it's my favorite song, but it was still goooooooooooood. They brought Kevin out in this little tomb where he was covered with a bunch of shaving cream. Then he started singing and doing his thing. Like the whole crowd got really into it, especially during the chorus. Then these guys in silver costumes came on stage and started blowing feathers on everyone. It was just fantastic and a perfect way to end. I felt so stupid because I started singing so loud (like, I could actually hear myself :|) and acting out the song. :/
*Then they said good bye and left the stage. Everyone started clapping and the tiger man and this one guy with the face of a fish and giant arms came on stage. They hugged and then the tiger man left. Eventually the guy with the giant arms started trying to get everyone to do what was on these big screens. So it would say, "scream" and we would scream, then quiet, then random ones like "meaw" and "moan." I couldn't make myself moan, hahaha. :x I just started screaming and clapping instead.
*They played four songs for their encore (Oslo In The Summertime, Gronlandic Edit, Smells Like Teen Spirit, and Take Me Out) which was sexy. I was only expecting three. Everyone lost it during both covers. I didn't even realize they were playing Take Me Out until like a minute into the show...and that's one of my favorite Franz Ferdinand songs. :/
*Also, Davey is SEXY. I mean, sexxxxxxxxxxy. I wanted to molest him a little...a lot.

Okay, so the few photos I got:

My view of the stage

Where they brought out Kevin during the Intro

Bryan and Davey. That blue lipstick was wonderful.

The setlist:

The shirt I got:

:D :D I didn't have any money but my mom gave me some before I left. :D Hehehe.

Here's someone else's photos: [http://flickr.com/photos/starbright31/sets/72157609777124961/] They're pretty good.

I'm sure there's plenty of stuff that I left out, but I can't remember anything else right now. I might edit this entry soon if I can think of anything.
I have to say that the crowd was pretty terrible. I felt like the most enthusiastic one, which isn't a good thing. I'm usually somewhat calm/reserved at concerts. :/ Towards the beginning of their set, there was this one drunk guy that pushed his way to the front. Man, what an asshole. He pushed in between me and this one guy and then spilled his beer on me. :| The security guards were trying to get him to leave but he wouldn't. One of them gave him dirty looks for the whole time he was there. :/ I eventually just forgot about him and tried to enjoy the show, but the guy who was next to me before the drunk guy came, was really pissed so he kept trying to get the guards the kick him out. That was pretty annoying. A bunch of random people wanted the security guards to get them out...and the crowd wasn't even that crazy. It was like they'd never been to a concert. :/ They probably hadn't...one of the roadies started throwing out the set lists and I grabbed one and then someone asked me what it was. :| Haha. Oh, and after the drunk guy left, these two people fit into his spot. One of them SMELLED. It was gross. I was trying to keep my face turned during the rest of the set because I DID NOT want to smell them. NASTY. I mean, if you're going to a concert, the least you can do is take a shower and brush your teeth. That's just common courtesy. Anyway, I tried my best to ignore the ass munches and just enjoy the show. Which I did. :D I thought I just liked of Montreal...not loved...but I guess that's changed now. :o)

Okay, so my mom ended up taking me to see Lykke Li at Amoeba’s. Sexy times, hehe:

My sister had class today and she ended up taking the car with the navigation system, so my mom wanted to wait until she came back so we could take that one. I don’t know how many times that thing has gotten us out of trouble. It’s amazing. Anyway, it was getting pretty late and I thought she wouldn’t be home soon, but she ended up getting here at around 4:30PM. I had plenty of time to get there since Lykke Li was going to start at 6:30PM. I got ready and stuff and we were in the car at around five. My mom accidentally drove into the wrong freeway, but that turned out fantastic because we didn’t have to take the 405. That freeway is just disgusting. There’s always so much traffic. We were at the place in less than forty five minutes. :D I stayed in the car until six because I didn’t see a lot of people there and I didn’t want to wait inside. By the time I went in, though, people were already lining up in the aisles. I got a decent spot, but I couldn’t see that well so I had to take out my glasses. I felt so awkward the whole time. :/ While I was waiting two people decided to stand in front of me. I wouldn’t have minded but they were taller than me. Ass munches, for reals. The security guard came around and told the guy to let me stand in front because I was shorter so that was nice. (Y) She came out at 6:30PM on the dot. Okay, now some bulleted action:

*She played:
- Dance Dance Dance
- Let It Fall
- Little Bit
- Hanging High
- I’m Good, I’m Gone
Only five songs. : ( It was pretty sad. I wish she would have played a few more, but I guess she only had a limited amount of time. I’m not sure about the order, but the first and last songs are right.
*The guy she had playing the drums was SEXY. Mhmm. I wanted to molest him a lot. Sexy times. He had mad drumming skillz too. <3
*During “Dance Dance Dance” she took out this little trumpet thingy. It was the most adorable thing! Now I want one!
*Her dancing is like WHOA. For reals. I don’t know, but she was all over the place. There was definitely some sexy thrusting too. :D I like thrusting. She probably did it better than Ezra. :o haha.
*During “Little Bit” her keyboard guy took out a mini accordion. It was so cute! OMG, it probably would have fit in my pocket. It was seriously tiny…colorful too.
*Hanging High was amazing. It gave me goosebumps…well the whole performance did, but this song especially. I’m enjoying her album so much more now.
*At the end of the show she said told the crowd that we should buy her album because she wanted new shoes. Aww. <3

Hmm, I guess that was it? Pretty short. I wanted her album in vinyl and I couldn’t find it so I didn’t end up buying anything. : ( Hopefully I’ll be able to find it somewhere else.
END.
Tuesday was fantastic, spectacular, amazing, etc. Goodness. I just get so happy when I think back on it.

So my mom decided to let me go see We Are Scientists. I had decided to buy the tickets at the venue because it wasn’t sold out and those Ticketmaster fees are the devil. Terrible idea, but more on that later. My brother had to go to school at three so we were going to drop him off and head to Hollywood. My cousin from Florida is visiting and she wanted to visit the place, so we decided to walk around for a while. Traffic was terrible and we finally got there at around 4:30. My mom dropped my cousin and me off and we just walked around the stores. We ended up walking into the Virgin Megastore in one of the malls. I was trying to save my money for a new Polaroid camera, but I ended up spending all of it there. Terrible, but I got Antidotes (Foals) on vinyl and Brain Thrust Mastery (We Are Scientists). There was a Sanrio store next to that…and I HAD to get a pencil. It’s so pretty and red. FUN! Then we started heading back to the car because it was getting late and I was worried about my spot in line. I would have gladly waited at the venue for hours, like I always do, but I was worried my cousin was going to get all fussy and I’d have to go home. We were in the car a little past six. Then we headed to Burger King because we hadn’t eaten in a while, so I was finally in line at 6:40. There were SO many people there. I felt like shit for being there so late. =( I’m always super early!

They had two lines: one for those who had tickets and the other for will call/buying tickets. After about twenty minutes one of the people from the venue came out and told us that those that wanted to buy tickets had to get in a separate line. I started to get nervous. I was sure that they were going to let all the will call people in and then us, and that’s what ended up happening. When the doors opened they let all the will call people go in, even those that were just getting there, and then they started letting us in. That was just poo. I will gladly pay those stupid fees now. Anyway, after I bought the tickets and got inside, the spot I ended up getting wasn’t that bad. I was about six rows back from the barricade. There weren’t many tall people so my view was decent. I was standing next to these annoying guys. My goodness! I just wanted to rip their little heads off. I could of too, they were tiny. There wasn’t much waiting once we were in there. I ended up going to the bathroom and my cousin sat down for a while because her feet were killing her.

**The Blood Arm**

Hmm. Well this band was pretty much ridiculous. I think their songs were mostly okay, but the singer…that guy was all over the place! His dancing was so terrible! Aww, I laughed so much. He would sort of shake his hips, a little bit like Shakira, and it got a bit awkward sometimes. He dedicated a song to one of the girls in front and bent down to give her a kiss or hug her, I’m not sure. It was weird though. :/
There were a few times when he stepped into the crowd. At one point he walked into the middle of the crowd. He told everyone in front of him to sit down and everyone behind him to stay standing. Then he sat down and started singing a song to the people around him. He was grabbing their shoulders and telling them they were fantastic. Haha. That was crazy. At the end he grabbed a few girls from the crowd and pulled them up on stage. One of the girls shorts came off and she pretty much mooned the entire crowd. Not cool. I did not want to see that. Overall, they were fun, I guess, made me forget about how much my feet were hurting.

**The Morning Benders**

They set up really fast, so I think they were on stage at around 9:30. They had some good songs. I might check their Myspace later on. Fun, catchy songs. The singer didn’t really interact with the crowd. They just got up there and played their songs. During the end of their set the singer was trying to get the crowd moving so he said we were having a little “dance-off” and we should all start dancing. It worked.

**We Are Scientists**

YAY!! For some reason they left the curtain open while they were setting up. It didn’t take too long for them to do that. People started getting impatient, but I think that’s the fastest I’ve seen a band set up. It was approximately 10:55 when they all came out. Aww, Keith and Chris looked so precious! It’s been a couple of days and my memory is shit, so I’m going to try my best to remember everything.

(*) There were bits in between the songs when Keith and Chris would do a little comedy bit. I don’t remember most of it, just a few random things. During the beginning of the show Chris started telling the crowd where the emergency exits were. Keith got angry and asked him why he was acting like The El Rey Theatre’s representative and Chris said they had given him five bucks and he’d give Keith $2.50 if he covered the rear exits. So Keith did and started yelling something like “2.50 AMERICAN, ALRIGHT?!” to Chris to make sure he was getting his moneys. During another break a girl yelled Cooper City High School. Keith then said something like “are you proud of that?! I heard they don’t teach you to read!” Then Chris said something about how that was where Keith went to high school. Keith agreed and admitted that he didn’t know how to read and Chris had to give him give him hand signs so he knows what songs to play. Then he told Chris what the sign for After Hours was and they started playing it.

(*) During “Textbook” Keith took off his guitar and jumped into the crowd. Sadly, he didn’t jump anywhere near me. He had so much trouble getting into the pitt because so many people rushed to try and touch him. When they headed that way I pushed to the front and ended up in the second row. Awesome. He was pretty much all over the place too! I don’t know what was up with all the people there and them rubbing his head. I swear everyone was doing that. I wouldn’t be surprised if the poor guy had a headache after the show.

(*) I think people were definitely more into the older songs. Hardly anyone knew lyrics to the newer songs and people didn’t move as much either. I felt like I was the only person singing along to most of the songs and that pretty much sucked.

They were fantastic live. Keith sounded great, as well as the rest of the band. That’s all I can remember for now. Hopefully I can add more later on.

Some of my pictures:

Keith about to jump into the crowd:

Keith in the crowd:

Precious smile <3

More here
Yay!

Yesterday was a most eventful day! My goodness, it was just wonderful. This is pretty long. I couldn't make myself stop writing! Click the link for sexxxiness.

I had to get up at around three in the morning to finish my homework and get ready for school. I had to be there extra early because I had a field trip. We were going to go to the Gibbon Observatory in Santa Clarita, which is a bit far. The apes there are most active in the mornings so if we wanted to see them in action we had to get there early. This field trip was only for the kids in Anthropology but the teacher offered any extra spots to his AP Government class, so I got one.

We got there at around eight. The place was tiny and nothing like what I had expected, but it was nice. We had to dip our shoes into this soap on our way in. I think it was so that the apes wouldn't catch anything. It was their singing time or something like that. GOODNESS. Those apes were LOUD. They made the most random noises. I had never heard apes yell that way. It was great. We had to stand around for a while waiting for the founder of the place to give us a tour. He was so weird and little. I wanted to put him in my pocket! There were only about six or seven types of apes that he showed us. I took pictures of a few:

All of them were so ugly that they were cute!! I wanted to bring them home with me.

We left at about ten. The principal was with us and kept on rushing everyone. A true butt munch. I was hoping that there would be tons of traffic and we'd get to school just in time for lunch, but I had to sit through College Prep. :/ I tried calling my sister so that she could pick me up earlier (for Vampire Weekend) but she wouldn't answer the phone.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Before The Show!
My sister got to school at around 12:30. My brother was going to get checked out too (in order to spare gas) but it turned out that my sister was only on my contact sheet, not his, so only I ended up leaving. I got home, made myself somewhat presentable, and ate. I really didn't have time to eat so I microwaved one of those Lean Cuisine meals. I wanted to get out of the house as soon as possible. Ugh, they are terrible. My mom had to drop my sister off and after that she would take me. We left the house at around 2:20 and I got to El Rey Theatre at 3:20-ish. I saw that there was no one in line so I ran to Walgreens across the street because I really had to use the restroom. I got back to the place and there was no one there so I just stood next to the door. I'd been at the place before but I didn't remember where the line started. A few minutes later two people joined me. We were there for close to twenty minutes when we see a van drive up. I looked inside the windows and it was both Chrises!!!! I was totally freaking out!!!! They got out of the van and went into the venue but in a few minutes they came back out and took some stuff inside. Chris T. was streching outside of the van when the girl next to me waved at him. He said hi and came over. He asked us if we wanted tickets but we said no, we all had ours. The girl told him that we were there that early because we were just weird. Then he came a little closer and introduced himself, like a proper thing. It was so adorable!!! I was siting on the floor so he had to bend down a little. <3 He stuck out his hand and said something along the lines of "Hi, my name is Chris. What's your name?" Then I said "An...nnnn...g-g-g.eee..lllll..aaaaa." I was so nervous! He shook the other two people's hands as well. I don't remember want happened after that. He had to drive the bus somewhere else and bring all the equipment in. Chris B. was helping as well. I didn't want to go up to him though. He was busy and he never smiles! They finished pretty soon and then Chris B. came out again. He passed by us and walked down the street to either a McDonalds or Quizno's. He had the paper bag with him but I couldn't tell which one it was. Rostam walked in soon after that. He was talking on the phone. It would have been rude to interupt him. Ezra was the last one to arrive at the venue. They walked in and out a few times. I'm sure they wouldn't have been bothered if I had gone up to them, but I'm terrible at that! I never have the courage to do it. It was nice to see them walking about though. It turned out that the girl next to me was the one I was going to sell my extra ticket to. I gave it to her and I got my moneys. Yay. Eventually people started showing up but there wasn't a big line until a few minutes before the show.

I took ton of pictures because I got bored :/

The El Rey Theatre at four-ish

The El Rey Theatre at six-ish. They added the "Sold Out" thing.

The El Rey Theatre at 7:30-ish. haha.

Wilshire Blvd.

Across the street from the venue.

OH! and the sexy poster I stared at for like five hours.

There was this random drunk guy that was singing to all of the people in line. I couldn't understand what he was saying. He left and came back a few times. A dollar fell out of his pocket and someone told him. He grabbed the dollar and ripped it to bits. I have no idea WTF that was all about.

Anyway, doors opened at around eight. I was the first one to go in and I could choose whatever spot I wanted!!! I was so happy. I stood near the center of the stage. People started coming in and there were these two girls that didn't get a spot in the front row so they were asking all of us there if we could move over. I was not about to move for anyone! I would have made my mom go sit in the back. Seriously. No one wanted to move but then they managed to convince the two girls next to me to let them in. I mean, if they wanted a spot in the front they should had waited for as long as rest of us had. The people next to me almost lost their spots because of them and were getting bitchy. I hate dealing with that sort of crap. Luckily, everything seemed to work out. I had overheard one of the security people and the show wasn't going to start until 9:15 so I had plenty of time to kill.

The curtain. It's supposed to say "El Rey Theatre."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
YACHT

Yacht consisted of a guy, a girl, and a computer. They were crazy and spectacular. The guy singer busted out the craziest/coolest dance moves. The girl didn't know how to dance as well :/ I wanted to record them for a while but I was scared my memory card was going to run out of space for Vampire Weekend. Most of their songs were really catchy/dancy (I don't even know what I'm trying to say here...).

The guy.

The girl.

Both of them.

The singer jumped into the crowd and made everyone around him squat down. I don't know why, but yeah. Then he jumped up in the air:

I don't know how I managed to get him in the air.

During the middle of their set they had a Q&A sort of thing. They let three people in the crowd ask them questions. The questions:
- if they were ever going to get a band and they said no
- why every song ended with glass shattering and they said they didn't know what that was and that vampire weekend were going crazy backstage
- if they were related, and they said they were dating
Pretty interesting stuff.

Later on they both jumped in. I think their set ended at about 9:45.

I really like this picture.

OMG and then...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vampire Weekend!!!!!!!!

They started at around 10:15. When I saw that there were only five more minutes until they were supposed to come out, I FREAKED OUT. My heart started racing and I couldn't breathe. It was like I was about to give a speech in front of 2342349238 people times a billion. Not good. I hadn't eaten anything but Life Savers gummy candy and a Monster coffee drink since one.

The lights dimmed and they finally came out!!!! :D :D :D They all looked so wonderful and sexy. I couldn't stop smiling or clapping or yelling. It was GREAT!!! They started off with Mansard Roof. Everyone there was singing along. It was hard to hear Ezra!! I don't remember the set list, but I know that they played every song and two new ones (White Sky and Little Giant). I can never put my thoughts together so it makes sense, so I'll make a list.

** During Little Giant, Rostam had to pick up a guitar and the strap was falling off during the song. Someone onstage tried to help him but it didn't stick. He finally took it off and he had to use his knee to keep the guitar in place. It was so adorable!! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFJHgHs1YZ8) I just wanted to go up there and hug him. After that he said something about how that was as rock and roll as he got. <3

When he wasn't smiling or looking at the keyboard he was always staring at the ceiling. He looked a bit awkward. Awww.

**Ezra busted out the sexiest moves. Goodness. He was doing this thing where he would snap his fingers and then clap his hands while bobbing his head. WOW. That almost killed me. OH! And he was twisting around! Awww. Plus there was also this sort of swimming move. I got a bit of it!

<lj-embed id="10" />

** Chris T. would always do this thing where he would sort of bend over the drum kit, like he was hugging his snare drum, and then look up. It was the most adorable thing! I just wanted to hug him. <3

** Chris B. would do the most random thing. He would start smiling (a big smile too!) and then just stop and start frowning. I don't know what that was about. He looks so precious when he does smile. He should learn from Chris T. and just smile all the time.

** Once in a while they would each look at each other and smile. It was sexy. They were taking a little break in between songs and both Chrises started doing this thing. I don't know exactly how to describe it, but they were pounding their fists on their chests, sort of like, "I feel you" or "I got your back." I don't think that makes much sense, but it was incredibly adorable. They did it for about 30 seconds and started laughing after it. <3

** Before playing A-Punk Ezra started talking about how they were working on a new video where they show you how to dance to the song. He said that since we hadn't seen it yet we could all just twist or cross our arms over our chest and lean back, or something like that. I just thought was too funny. :D

Some random pictures:

<img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3065/2350816824_ddd1b11f7f.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="Ezra and Chris B. <lj:music>ok go - what to do</lj:music>

OMFG!!!

Today was a good day.

I woke up (around noon-ish) and my mom had made pancakes. YUM. I started getting ready for the OK Go thing. I don't know why but I only bother to dress up for concerts. I cleaned my shoes and everything. At about 3:30. I decided to check the mail and the Spin Magazine was here. Who was on the cover?? VAMPIRE WEEKEND!! Gosh, I was even happier, if that's possible. There were so many pictures. It was lovely, although the article was more about hype and blogs in general. I did find out that Ezra was a middle school English teacher! That's so adorable. Anyway, I finished reading it, got all my things together and I was out of the house at about 5:00. I thought it was going to take nearly two hours because that's how long it was last time, but I was there in less than an hour. There wasn't too much traffic. It took us a while to find the place because we passed the street we had to turn at.

I was officially at the place at a little past 6. My brother ran in to check if we were at the right place and he saw Tim. My goodness, he totally freaked out. Since I could only buy one ticket, he didn't get to go. I was too scared to go up to him so I just stayed in the car until he was inside again. I lined up with three other girls, one of which was Kalinda! Yay! She had her sexy piano scarf. It was raining a bit so we had to get under these stairs. The two other girls didn't have tickets, so they went to go ask if they could buy some and if we could wait by the door. They did have extra tickets, but they had to wait until the show started. We waited by the door too. From outside I could see them practicing!! My vision isn't the best, but what I saw was crazy sexy. There were these other two girls singing along with them. At about 7-ish the place started getting packed. They let us in a little after 7:30. Me and Kalinda got seats in the front row! For some reason people were steering away from it. We were so close! I got up to buy some candy. I only had a twenty and the place didn't have change so they gave it to me for FREE. That was cool. B)

The show started at a little after 8. Things that I remember (I have a horrible memory):
*They came out and played a song. It was wonderful!!! I was sad that Dan wasn't there though. Drums and Dan's presence make things 292480394 times sexxxier. I'm not sure if it was a new song or something they had made for the show or just a song I'd never heard, but it was great.

*Then they introduced the host of the show. He did a little monologue. I loved it. He was really funny, but what made me laugh the most was that he'd laugh at all his jokes. Then there was a mix of comedians and music.

*OK Go stayed on the stage for the whole show. I would have stared at them the entire time but they probably would have gotten freaked out.

*The host started messing with Damian because he was on Letterman with Bonerama instead of the band. He said that they had secretly broken up and this was their reunion and then Damian gave Tim a hug. GOODNESS! That was incredibly adorable. Everyone in the audience went "aww." :]

*They played "A Million Ways" at some point.

*They also played a song with these two other singers. It was a nice song. Damian kept smirking at one of the girls. His smirks could KILL.

*One of the comedians was talking about how he did this Michael Jackson dance at a Karoke thing. He actually started dancing on stage with OK Go singing and playing along. It was hilarious and he was so good at it too!

*James Franco was there! Since Andy Richter couldn't make it because he was filming in New Zealand, he read Andy's essay. I saw him on the way out too. He's a nice guy.

*Seth Rogan and some other girl helped out with one of the essays as well.

The show ended at 9:20-ish. I called my mom right after but she didn't get there until around 10:15. So, I waited for them to come out. It was raining a bit. I saw Andy run out of the place and walk down the street. It was weird. Finally Tim came out but he was busy. Then he and Damian came out together. I was waiting with Kalinda, and she asked Damian to sign some stuff. Nothing could come out of my mouth. He's so much smaller than I thought he was! Tim too! I just wanted to put them in my pocket and take them home!! I finally got up the courage and asked him to take a picture with me. He did. I look like a monster in it, but he looks lovely. My brother got out of the car to see what I was doing and got a picture with Damian as well. He was sooooo excited about it. YAY! This is the first time I've met someone famous...it was so weird. I don't know. I usually don't like to wait but I guess I was forced to this time. I'm so glad I did. Damian is the nicest person. By the time we were done talking to him Tim had left. :[

We left. My brother and I were jumping around in the car. My mom was so excited too!!

PLUS! I come home and my mom's made chicken.

BEST DAY EVER!!!

My picture with him:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/23835821@N03/2287251517/
(I've painted myself out in order to spare you guys the horrible pain of seeing me.)

    <lj:music>watching two and a half men :/</lj:music>

I went to see Vampire Weekend today. They were performing at Amoeba's, a music store in Hollywood. My mom didn't really want to take me because I've been incredibly sick for the past two days and traffic to Hollywood is a bitch. I was at the brink of tears and she broke. I left at around 5:30 p.m. after I finished eating and changing. I got at the place at 6:50. It was ridiculous. We were barely moving along on the freeway. There was a giant line and I got a place around the middle. There were already tons of people inside and they were letting us in 15 by 15. I was sooo far away from them. I was so upset. I know that half of the people were only there because of the recent buzz they've gotten >:[ It's selfish of me to want bands to stay small, but it's so much better that way for fans!

They were in the middle of playing a song when I went in. I don't remember which one it was :/ I was the only one moving around, singing and dancing. Everyone around me was NOT moving. It was a bit upseting. I hope the the people up front danced a bit more.

Boston was played! That's definetely one of my favorite songs :] The set was only about 30 mintues.

I didn't know that they were doing a signing thing, so I didn't take my cd. (I know I should have predicted that.) Well I didn't have any money to buy another one, so I left. I called my mom and it turned out that she was lost. I waited outside for about 20 minutes and finally went back in. It was completely freezing and it was windy like a mofo!!! I'd only taken a thin jacket because I knew it was going to be hot inside.

I know I'm going to regret going tomorrow when I can't wake up. When I went back in they were still signing stuff. My mom finally got there about 15 minutes later. They were giving away these Monster drinks and I took one. I was like zooming throughout the store trying to look at Ezra and his prettiness. The stupid employees were being a pain though.

I went outside, met my mom, and she gave me a few bucks so that I could buy the vinyl and get it signed. When I went back in they were already done siging stuff and I wanted to cry :[ I don't know, but it didn't seem worth while. Sure, I love Vampire Weekend, but I just feel horrible. I made my mom drive for hours for a 30 minute set. When she couldn't find her way back she was totally freaking out and even after she found me she wasn't quite the same. I feel terrible.

poo.

    <lj:music>interpol - say hello to the angels</lj:music>

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG That show was so amazing! It's just, it's left me without words and I'm literally crying. <3 Ok, so, my meager detailed happenings of the night *warning! may contain excessive use of the word "sexy"*:

Before the show -
I got there around 10 in the morning (there was already a line!), but my mom was freaking out since my brother and I had missed school for this and the police are getting real tight on trauncy and all that crap. She dropped us off at my dad's shop and we actually ended up in the line at around 10:35. There were about 15 people in front of me. (The last time I saw them, I got there at 5 an ended up with about the same spot in line. They're getting fucken huge, it's ridiculous.) It was soo hot and due to the fires (I heard that a lot of people couldn't make it to the show because of that. SUCKS =[), the sky was this orange-looking color and there was ash all over the place. My nose was bothering me for a while.
At around noon they moved us out of the street and into one of the ramps. We were seperated into two lines of girls and two lines of guys. I ended up a bit closer to the front this way. For some reason, there's always less guys and my brother ended up third or fourth in line. So we waited and waited and waited. It was unbearable, especially when they did the sound check (Pace, Pioneer, A Time to be so Small, and The Lighthouse). My brother eventually left since the security guys were letting people come back to their spots. At around two my sister showed up and saved our spot in line while I went to eat. I came back and waited and waited and waited. They said that they were going to let us in the venue at around six, which was pretty early, I think. My sister, being the little shit she is, at the last momment called my mom and told her to pick her up because she was tired and wasn't feeling well. That was soo annoying, but seeing as how I was there because of her, I couldn't tell her much. My older brother decided to show up since we had an extra ticket, but he just ended up leaving after five songs because the crowd got too crazy.
We were inside at 6:30 p.m. My brother got a spot up at the baracade and tried holding one for me but people pushed him out of the way. I ended up just grabbing part of the railing, but I eventually pushed my way up (I had to be continuously fighting with this little bitch that was also trying to get up there. When Interpol started the back rows just pushed us both up, though, so it all worked out.) I was in between Paul and Carlos, but closer to Paul (of course!). And then more and more waiting.

Liars -
At a little past eight Liars came on. I had heard such horrible things about them, but I thought they did a good job. The singer came out in this white suit, which was soo adorable. I love it when guys wear white <3 Anywho, they did their thing. The singer danced like kRAzY. He was always pulling up the bottom of his pants, exposing a skinny, pale, probably hairless, little leg. All in all, I really liked it. They played for about 45 mintues, I think. They were off stage at approximately 9. Then we had to wait, wait, and wait some more. My back hurt like a bitch, my feet felt completely numb, AND I was still fighting with that guy for a spot at the baracade.

INTERPOL!!!!!! -
Jed the Fish came out to announce them. He did this stupid thing about the fires that are happening and how we needed to bring the fire for Interpol or something like that. It was retarded.
ahhh!! And then, and finally, my babies came out. I couldn't believe it. My heart was beating like crazy. I just started yelling and clapping uncontrollably. Daniel was wearing his little suit like always. Carlos had the western thing going on. Dave had his suit, but no hat! =[ I could barely see Sam because his drumset and Paul were in the way, but he was wearing his little hat, a white shirt, and a black tie. Paul (oh, Paul) was wearing a black, long-sleeve shirt, his wristband, the same pants he always wears (haha), and his hair was nicely put behind his ears (I was hoping for crazy, hair all over the place Paul, but this was just as sexy). They're all so skinny and seemed so tiny...ahhh, well the point is that they all looked wonderful =D
What I remember of the set list (order is probably wrong):
Pioneer
Obstacle 1
NARC
C'Mere
The Lighthouse
Slow Hands
Say Hello to the Angels
The Heinrich Maneuver
Mammoth
No I in Threesome
Rest My Chemistry
Evil
Not Even Jail
Pace is the Trick
-------
Encore:
Untitled
Stella
PDA
(There might have been more, but I really don't remember =/)
They started off with Pioneer, like always. OMG that song is so amazing live. I felt the same way I felt when I heard it for the first time and I was almost crying. After that, the crowd got crazy! I was pushed so much, my feet were stepped on, my hair kept on getting pulled, and I think some guy was dry humping me. It was just insane. It was nothing like last time where no one was touching me and I even had a little room to move around. They got worse during the singles and more popular songs. But of course, I was part of the crazy too, hehe. It was so hard to just stand there. I couldn't stop moving or yelling or singing along. I even forgot some lyrics but still mumbled along.
Daniel was unbelievable! His moves are totally killer. He just got into the music so much and during a few songs, when the crowd would yell, he would scream "whoa" with us. It was the most adorable thing ever. He got on top of the speakers sometimes and during one song he jumped onto these giant thingys (I don't know what they were) next to the stage and closer to the crowd. That was sexy. Again, I could hardly see Sam =[ Carlos was looking fucken FINE! During one song he lit a cigarette and held it in his mouth while playing. That was soo sexy. OMG and the way he would move his bass. It was just crazy. Farmer Dave would occassionally have this dork-ish smile. It was so cute. Paul (oh Paul!!!) was just incredible. He looked so sexy throughout the whole thing. He got into the music so much and his little smiles and smirks would just melt my heart. I couldn't take it!!
----Little Random things I remember----
Paul sort of presented Farmer Dave to the crowd. I couldn't hear what Paul was saying, but Farmer Dave just kept smiling and blowing kisses to the crowd <3
I think The Lighthouse was definitely the highlight of the night. I thought they were going to get off stage because I saw Paul take off his guitar. It was the most beautiful surprise! I think Carlos walked off stage for most of the song. There was this spotlight on Daniel and then Paul started singing. OMG it was the sexiest thing ever. First of all, he always has his guitar and seeing him without it...ahh, just...ahhh!!! He had his eyes closed for most of the time and he held the microphone so gently. I swear he was having an orgasm...seriously. I might have been having one too, hahahah! I was actually crying. I tried so hard not so cry because I knew my brother was going to make fun of me but it was all so beautiful. During the end of the song, when the drums and bass come in, Paul, Sam, and Carlos were all in the back, not facing the audience, and this yellow light came on. All I could see was their shadows. It was priceless. That just went so well with the song.
They did a LONG intro for PDA. It was sex. They were all turned around, except Daniel, which looked pretty cool. That guy CANNOT stop moving!
During Pace is the Trick, I don't know if it was that Paul forgot the lyrics or he wanted the crowd to sing along, but he wouldn't completely finish a lyric. It was pretty cool, though.
OH OH! Paul did the kiss during Stellaaaaaa!!! hehe. PLUS, he added this little hand gesture, like when you blow a kiss to someone. Sadly, it wasn't in my direction =[ ahh, but I swear, my legs turned into jello. I think the crowd sand along to this song the most. He had a little smirk during most of it <3
I think that's it. I might remember a few extra things later on. It's four in the morning so I should really finish my homework =/

All I have to say is that Paolo is unbelievable. <lj:music>Bye Bye Baby</lj:music>

(warning! I'm not a good writer) Today was just wonderful. It started off with a Calc test, which was kind of easy. So going to school on Saturday wasn't that bad. I got home and ate. By 2:30 p.m. I was out the door. I got to Loyola at around 3. There was no one there, so my sister and cousin decided to go get some food and my brother and I stayed. OK Go was just in the middle of soundcheck!!!! No one was there, just my brother and OK Go. It was wonderful. I saw them play 1/2 of two songs and then Damian passed right by me. All I could do was squeal and squeal and squeal. I was so scared and nervous and it was just a wonderful feeling. They didn't let us take pictures because the manager was complaing (what a bitch!). Luckily, earlier I had managed to take a few. It turned out that there was a wedding going on near the stage so they had to postpone the show. Instead of starting at 6 it started at 7. My bother and sister said they didn't want to stay so they left me by myself (punks). Like a loser I waited for 4 hours for the show to start. Luckily, I had a really great spot, front row center, right in front of Damian. The time finally came and Common started off the show. He was alright, but that definitely not the music for me. It felt like an eternity waiting and waiting for OK Go to start. At one point, he pulled up a girl on stage and started air humping her. It was gross. Common finished, the roadies set-up all the equipment, and soon OK Go was on stage. I felt like my heart was going to explode. They all looked so beautiful in their suits. Tim looked so small and cute. All I wanted to do was hug him and put him in my pocket. Andy looked sssoooo hott. The poor girls next to me screamed their hearts out to try and get Andy's attention, but they couldn't. Dan had his little hat on and was just as sexy as always. But no one looked better than Damian. His hair was so shiny and smooth and he looked so sexy in his suit. He took his coat off during one of the songs and my eyes popped out of my sockets. I couldn't take my eyes off of him. I sang to every song and screamed as loud as I could. They did both covers and Damian jumped into the audience twice (Unfortunately not on my side. I so wanted to touch that wonderful butt of his!). They were all just as energetic as always. There were some technical problems and Damian seemed so angry, but who actually cared? Just as long as I could see them I was happy, and the rest of the audience too. Before I knew it, they had finished their set, but they came back for an encore, played Do What You Want, and did the dance. I was so surprised since lots of people had said that they had decided to stop doing it. The sound shut off just in the middle of the dance and poor sexy Damian was so upset, but they managed to start over. Who could get tired of that dance? Dan and Andy did some weird thing and they started to laugh, Dan grabbed his privates, and Damian lifted his shirt up a little like always. And then they were done. AMAZING! (Sadly, I couldn't take any pictures during the actual show because I'm a bit of a moron when it comes to cameras.)
Set (in no order):
Invincible
DWYW
HIGA
A Good Idea at the Time
It's a Diaster
Your So Damn Hot
Get Over It
The House Wins
Television, Television
No Sign of Life
(thats all that I remember)
